Whatnot seller fees in 2026, explained
Whatnot's seller cost comes in two parts, and — importantly — they apply to different amounts:
| Fee | Rate | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Seller commission | 8% | Sold price only (excludes shipping & tax) |
| Payment processing | 2.9% + $0.30 | Order total (includes shipping & tax) |
So on a $100 item with no shipping or tax, you pay $8.00 commission + $3.20 processing = $11.20, keeping $88.80. Add shipping or tax and only the processing side grows, because the 8% commission ignores them.
Whatnot is a live-selling platform, so keep in mind that giveaways, discounts, and shipping promotions you run during a show all affect your real margin on top of these fees. The calculator handles the fee math; enter your item and shipping costs to see the bottom line.
